Midlife Mutiny Support
Climate Control Blend
NOBODY PUT THIS IN THE BROCHURE
One minute you’re fine. The next, you’re peeling off your sweater in the middle of a meeting, fanning yourself with whatever’s handy. You kick the covers off at 2 a.m., pull them back on at 2:15, and lie awake until the alarm. You cry at a commercial, snap at the cashier, and walk into a room with no idea why you came.
Hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and all the other surprises nobody bothered to put in the YOU ARE HERE brochure.
Granny calls it a midlife mutiny. She has a cup that puts it down.
Menopause Perimenopause is a loose-leaf blend of eight organic herbs, roots, and blossoms with one job: bringing the climate back under control. Red Clover and Black Cohosh lead the charge on hot flashes. Sage shuts down the sweats. Vitex and Dong Quai steady the hormone shift. And Motherwort, Licorice, and Lemon Balm settle the heart, the nerves, and the nights.
WHAT’S HAPPENING, AND WHY IT FEELS LIKE A MUTINY
Menopause is the stage when the ovaries wind down and estrogen and progesterone drop for good. Perimenopause is the stretch leading up to it. It often starts in your late thirties or forties and lasts for years, and that’s when the trouble hits hardest because hormones don’t fall in a straight line. They lurch, spike, and crash, and your body has to adjust to a new normal every month.
Estrogen does far more than run the monthly cycle. It sets your inner thermostat, steadies your mood, protects your sleep, keeps your skin and joints supple, and keeps your bones strong. When it swings and drops, every one of those systems feels it.
When the hormones mutiny, you feel it:
- Hot flashes, day and night
- Night sweats that soak the sheets
- Trouble falling or staying asleep
- Mood swings, irritability, and weepiness
- Anxiety and a racing or pounding heart
- Brain fog and forgetfulness
- Irregular or skipped periods
- Low energy and fatigue
- Dryness, low desire, and achy joints
- Weight that settles around the middle
Months of broken sleep and frayed nerves wear down everything else: your patience, your focus, your marriage, your work. Steady the shift, and you get your nights, your mood, and yourself back.
WHAT THIS TEA DOES FOR YOU
- Cools hot flashes and shuts down night sweats
- Steadies the hormone swings of perimenopause and menopause
- Evens out mood, irritability, and weepiness
- Slows a racing heart and quiets anxious nerves
- Brings back deep, unbroken sleep
- Smooths unpredictable cycles in the perimenopause years
- Clears the fog and restores your energy
These herbs work on the change from every side at once. Red Clover and Licorice bring plant estrogens that fill in for what the body is losing. Vitex works on the brain’s hormone signals that run the cycle. Black Cohosh and Sage work on the inner thermostat. Motherwort and Lemon Balm calm the heart and the nerves. And Dong Quai builds the blood and steadies the cycle.
The nights are the first to settle, often within two to four weeks. The flashes and the mood keep coming down from there, and the full effect builds over two to three months of daily cups.
WHAT’S IN IT AND WHY
RED CLOVER BLOSSOM
Red Clover leads this blend. Those pink meadow blossoms were the heart of old American tonics, and they’re loaded with isoflavones, plant estrogens that step in as the body’s own estrogen drops. It goes straight at hot flashes from the hormone side, which is why it leads.
BLACK COHOSH ROOT
Native American women used Black Cohosh for generations before it ever reached Europe. Today, it’s the most studied herb for menopause in the world. It cools hot flashes and night sweats by working on the brain’s thermostat, not by adding estrogen, and it lifts the mood while it works.
SAGE LEAF
The same sage in Sunday’s stuffing is a sweat stopper. Herbalists have used it for centuries to dry up night sweats. In one modern study, women taking sage every day cut their hot flashes in half within four weeks, and by week eight, the most severe flashes were gone entirely. It sharpens memory and focus, too, right when the brain fog moves in.
VITEX (CHASTE TREE) BERRY
Vitex is the berry of the Mediterranean chaste tree, a women’s herb since ancient Greece. It works on the pituitary, the master gland that sends hormone signals to the ovaries, and it steadies progesterone as the cycle turns unpredictable. That makes it the star of the perimenopause years: smoother cycles, fewer
surprises, and calmer days before a period.
DONG QUAI ROOT
In China, it’s called female ginseng, and it has been the leading women’s herb there for more than a thousand years. Dong Quai builds and moves the blood, eases cramping, and steadies the female cycle through every stage of life.
MOTHERWORT HERB
Its Latin name, Leonurus cardiaca, means lion’s tail for the heart, and the heart is exactly where it works. Motherwort has been the mother’s herb since medieval times. It slows a racing or pounding heart, quiets anxiety, and cools the short fuse that comes with the change.
LICORICE ROOT
Licorice is one of the most used herbs in the world. Once the ovaries wind down, the adrenal glands take over part of the hormone work, and Licorice backs them up. It adds its own plant estrogens to the blend and a natural sweetness to the cup.
LEMON BALM LEAF
Lemon Balm is a lemon-scented member of the mint family, and Carmelite friars in Paris made it the heart of their famous calming water in 1611. It calms the nerves, lifts the mood, and carries you off to sleep, and it gives the cup a fresh, lemony finish.
Caffeine-free.
HOW TO MAKE IT
- Use 1 tablespoon (about 3.2 g) per 8 oz cup.
- Use water just off the boil.
- Cover and steep for 10 minutes.
- Enjoy 1 to 3 cups daily.
Blossoms and leaves give freely, and the lid keeps the Sage and Lemon Balm in the cup instead of the steam.
FOR A DEEPER CUP
Three roots sit under the blossoms: Black Cohosh, Dong Quai, and Licorice. Simmer on the stove, covered, for 10 minutes instead of steeping, and they give up their full strength.
THE SECOND CUP
These herbs have more to give. Don’t throw them out after the first cup. Pour fresh hot water over the same herbs and steep a little longer than the first time. The second cup is mellower and every bit as good.
KEEPING THEM SAFE FOR THE SECOND BREW
Wet herbs sitting on the counter are a welcome mat for mold and bacteria. Strain the used herbs into a clean jar, put the lid on, and set it straight in the refrigerator. Brew them again within 24 hours. Never leave wet herbs sitting out overnight, and never brew them a third time. Smells sour or off? Toss them and start fresh.
HOW MANY CUPS
- First brew: 15 cups per pouch
- Second brew: 15 more cups from the same herbs
- Total: 30 cups per pouch
HOW MUCH, HOW LONG, AND WHEN TO TAKE A BREAK
Enjoy 1 to 3 cups daily.
Run it for up to 6 months, then take 1 month off before starting again.
Make your last cup an hour before bed. Sage and Motherwort work the night shift.
Expect the nights to settle first, within two to four weeks, with the full effect building over two to three months.
TAKING A BINDER?
A binder earns its place beside this tea, especially in the perimenopause years, when estrogen spikes as often as it crashes. Your liver packs the excess into bile and sends it to the gut to leave. Without help, gut bacteria unhook part of it and send it right back into the blood, piling onto the next spike. While Vitex and Black Cohosh steady the swings, Activated Charcoal, Bentonite Clay, or Diatomaceous Earth catches what the liver sends out and carries it out for good.
Binders grab whatever they touch in your gut, including the herbs in this tea and your tincture.
Keep them apart: take your binder at least 2 hours before or after your tea and your tincture.
A sample day:
- 6:00 a.m.: Binder, at least 2 hours before your first cup
- 8:00 a.m.: First cup of tea
- 2:00 p.m.: Second cup of tea
- 8:00 p.m.: Third cup, an hour before bed
Binder at sunrise, last cup before bed. Each one works its own shift.
WAYS TO ENJOY IT
NIGHT SHIFT
Sage dries up the sweats, and Motherwort quiets the pounding heart that wakes you at 2 a.m. Make your last cup an hour before bed so both are on duty when the night gets hot.
GIVE IT TIME
Hormones don’t turn on a dime. Three weeks of daily cups brings the first difference, and Vitex and Black Cohosh keep building for three months. Stay with it.
ICED
Brew it double-strength and pour over ice. A hot flash’s natural enemy.
KEEP A PITCHER
Keep a pitcher of iced tea in the fridge and pour a cold glass the minute a flash starts to climb. Cold from the inside cools you from the core out.
WITH WATER
Night sweats pull water out of you, and a dry body runs hotter. Drink a full glass of water with every cup and keep one by the bed.
WITH A BINDER
Take Charcoal, Bentonite, or Diatomaceous Earth first thing in the morning, at least 2 hours before your first cup, so the herbs stay in you and do their work.
COOL THE KITCHEN
Spicy food and alcohol fan the flames. Go easy on both while the tea gets the thermostat back under control.
PAIRS GREAT WITH GODLY GRANNY GOURMET HONEY
Honey doesn’t argue, doesn’t sweat, and shows up sweet every time. Stir a spoonful of Godly Granny Gourmet Honey in Orange Blossom into your cup while it’s hot for a boost of sweetness and its own wellness: natural antioxidants, a soothing coat for a tired throat, and clean, steady energy. Light, floral, and bright, it brings the Lemon Balm forward and lets the Red Clover’s honeyed blossom shine. Honey and a cool head: Granny’s recipe for midlife.

Take them together on the same six-month schedule, with the same month off, and keep both at least 2 hours away from your binder. The tea steadies the climate. The tincture brings the full strength.
